Transferring money abroad – especially when high amounts of money are involved – is a very delicate issue. Many people prefer to pay some extra fees and be sure that the money will arrive. When it comes to money transfer, trust is a very important factor. Now Wise has been almost explosive in its success. It is a lot faster and a lot cheaper than common bank transfers. Is Wise safe? Absolutely. I have tried it out myself many times. The first time I used it, I was not sure if I wanted to go through with the transfer. I was just curious and wanted to try it out. What I liked about it: I could enter the local bank account number and the sort code of my recipient in England. I did not have her IBAN and BIC number. This was not a problem for Wise. For my bank this would have been a problem, as they only make bank transfer if you have the IBAN and BIC number at hand. So I entered her local bank account number from her English bank and entered the amount in British Pounds. From Germany it normally takes 4 working days to transfer money to England. That is very long. It takes so long because of changing Euros into Pounds. Wise is the best way to transfer money from Germany to England. No doubt. I paid the amount of my transaction with my credit card in the evening. The English lady had my money on her account the next day. That was the fast money transfer I have ever done between Germany and England. Needless to say it is the same thing when you transfer between Germany and the US, or the UK and Australia. It works in almost every country in this world. Just give it a go and you will never use common bank transfers again! Instead you can treat yourself to something – from the money you will have saved in the transactions!
